As of May 30th, Subway Surfers has hit two billion downloads! Subway Surfers has been a popular game ever since its release in May of 2012. In 2017, the game became the most downloaded game all over the worldwide. In March of 2018, the game was the first to hit 1 billion downloads on Google Play Store. Now, just two months later, the game has hit the 2 billion download mark worldwide just two months later. What an achievement! The game has continuously added levels over the years, as well as 79 destinations during its “world tours.” The 2018 Subway Surfers World Tour had 46 locations with 85 updates, with each destination adding a new character and hoverboard.
In addition to the updates, they also released a cartoon series in June of 2018. The series was created by several award-winning artists in writing and film from around the world. Another important event for the game in June is a real-life beach party thrown in Venice Beach, California to commemorate the game’s stop in the city online. The party featured interactive art, music food, and competitions, as well as free merchandise. They also announced the release of limited edition sneakers by skateboard apparel maker Vans.
